In this message, Pastor Barbara looks at the discipline of stillness, our stillness that allows us to hear God, no matter how loudly or quietly He is speaking…and being still is so very different from silence and being silent!! Just as we are called into contemplative silence (“Be still and know that I am God,” “For God alone my soul in silence waits”), when something needs to be said, particularly if it makes our voice shake, God asks us to speak. This is liberating — God not only “asks” us to speak, but God promises to be with us. So stillness and silence and speaking out, are ALL essential elements of a fully-rounded Christian life.
